Bucks on the Street Auction Party November 15

The 21 creatively decorated bucks that have been on display throughout Buckhead will soon find new homes – and benefit Buckhead greenspace in the process.

On Thursday, November 15, guests will gather at the newly renovated The Estate on Piedmont for the Bucks on the Street Auction Party. WSB-TV news anchor Justin Farmer will host an entertaining evening that begins with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction for a portion of the Bucks, and culminates with live auction for the remaining Buck statues.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit Livable Buckhead, a nonprofit organization that is leading an effort to increase greenspace in Buckhead. Denise Starling of Livable Buckhead and Jim Durrett of the Buckhead CID will give a brief presentation on the latest designs for the GA400 Trail, a five-mile trail that connects Buckhead neighborhoods to parks, trails, schools, the Buckhead Business District, and ultimately to the Atlanta BeltLine. Bucks on the Street co-chairs Donna Kain and Elizabeth Gill will also participate in the event.

“Money raised through the Bucks on the Street auction is significant for improving Buckhead’s greenspace”, says Denise Starling, Executive Director of Livable Buckhead. “Greenspace is vital to positioning Buckhead, and the city of Atlanta, for future generations who will choose where their businesses locate and their families

settle.”

The Bucks on the Street Auction Party will take place at 6 p.m. at The Estate on Piedmont, 3109 Piedmont Road. Tickets are $100 per person and are available for purchase online at www.bucksonthestreet.org. Please reserve tickets by November 10, 2012. The recommended attire is cocktail.
