The Cathedral of Christ the King in Buckhead ended its year-long 75th Anniversary celebrations with the 75th Anniversary Cathedral Ball at the Piedmont Driving Club on Saturday, February 9, 2013.
The black-tie event was reminiscent of the reception held at the Piedmont Driving Club following the Dedication of the Cathedral in 1939. More than 500 parishioners attended the “adults only” black-tie affair. In attendance were Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory, FOX News anchor Russ Spencer, and former Braves pitcher Tom Glavine. Legendary Atlanta band, The Tams, provided the entertainment.
The event raised approximately $75,000, which will go towards the restoration of the Cathedral windows.
