J. Ross Peters selected as the next Principal for The Westminster Schools High School
J. Ross Peters was selected as the next Principal for the High School after an extensive national search conducted by Carney, Sandoe & Associates.
Since 2007, Ross was at the Hawken School in Cleveland, Ohio, where he has been Upper School Director. He previously spent 10 years at the Asheville School in Asheville, NC. His experience includes serving as English Department Chair, Humanities Chair, Dean of Faculty, and Assistant Head for Academic Affairs. He has had responsibilities for hiring faculty, designing daily schedules and academic calendars, structuring an upper school Administrative Team, and implementing an Honor Code system. His passion for teaching runs deep - he currently teaches two semester electives for seniors: Creative Non-Fiction and 21st Century Short Fiction and Poetry.
Peters will start on July 1, 2011. Plans will be underway soon to make sure there will be a smooth transition of the High School leadership.
