Lee Nuckolls Joins Pace Academy College Counseling Office

Pace Academy is pleased to announce that Lee Nuckolls has joined its College Counseling team as associate director of College Counseling.

Nuckolls comes to Pace from Salt Lake City, Utah, where she served for seven years as director of Financial Aid and associate director of College Counseling at Rowland Hall, an independent day school. Prior to working at Rowland Hall, Nuckolls was associate director of Undergraduate Admission at Washington University in St. Louis for 11 years.

“Nuckolls brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role as a college counselor,” says Head of School Fred Assaf. “Throughout our college process, students and families work one-on-one with counselors to determine which schools best suit a student’s strengths and interests. The counselor-student relationship plays a vital role in this process, and I am confident that Nuckolls will be a wonderful mentor and guide to our students and their families.”

Nuckolls is halfway through a term as Executive Board member, Finance Committee member and treasurer of Rocky Mountain Association for College Admission Counseling. She has been the University of Utah School of Business director of Undergraduate Admission, an ice cream truck driver, a NAIS Financial Aid webinar faculty member, a dude ranch cook and once taught a section of college geography.

“I love getting to know students and helping them and their families understand and navigate the college-application process,” Nuckolls says. “My goal is to help students, families and the Pace community constructively manage the anxiety that often accompanies what is ultimately an exciting door-opener for all students.”
