NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is offering "Basics", a free course for parents and primary caregivers of children/adolescents who are experiencing symptoms of mental illness or emotional disturbance whether they have been formally diagnosed or not.  This 6-week course covers essential topics such as: pros & cons of psychiatric medications, social stigma, school issues, impact on the rest of the family, and ways to take care of oneself while taking care of the child.

The class will meet Thursday mornings Oct 4-Nov 8 at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Buckhead.
