First Montessori School of Atlanta has partnered with the Sandy Springs United Methodist Church on its annual Thanksgiving Outreach Project. The church expects to provide a warm and nourishing meal for more than 350 homeless and needy individuals in the Sandy Springs area from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22. The church is located at 86 Mount Vernon Highway N.E.
FMSA parents provided the ingredients for the side dishes of macaroni and cheese, green bean casserole, squash casserole, dressing, cranberry relish and bread. Toddler through Middle School students helped prepare and cook the various dishes.
"Without First Montessori School of Atlanta's participation, this event would be difficult to pull off," said Sr. Pastor Dr. Ken Ray, of Sandy Springs United Methodist Church.
"This opportunity to help others and contribute to the wider community is a long-standing and much anticipated tradition for our students," said FMSA's Head of School Jerri King.
