I am not sure from the article how you are supposed to enter this contest, so I am sending my entry as a comment. Every year we host a breakfast for people in our condo building so they can have breakfast, a bloody Mary or Mimosa and , of course coffee, while they watch the race from our 4th floor condo and its two balconies that looks up Peachtree Road at the corner of Peachtree and Rumson Roads (across the street from the Cathedral of St. Philip). So, my wife and I will be doing a lot of cooking and preparation starting at about 5:30 to 6 a.m. and then a bit of socializing while keeping the food and drinks flowing for 25 or more people.

John, thanks for the comment! Yes, we are just looking for people to say, here in the comments area, how they will be spending their time at the race. It can be descriptive, like your entry, or as simple as "I will be running!" or "I will be there watching!" Sounds like it will be a good time at your place!

Thanks great John. Runners love seeing the crowds watching...at least it helps me keep going!
I am running! So I'll be spending my morning getting some exercise!

I will be running. I began by running the race once a decade - in 1979, then 1982. Then I took a big break from it, until we bought a house within walking distance of the start. I couldn't stand being so close & not participating, so I signed up in 1999 (again, once in that decade). Since then, though, I have run numerous times. When I get to Rumson, I'll look up at the balcony & wave!

Just an update on my earlier entry. We had about 35 people in our condo to watch the Road Race and have breakfast and Bloody Marie's and Mimosas. My wife thought we had too much food, but we had very little leftovers. We had an egg casserole, spinach quiche, potatoes O'Brien, bacon, biscuits and bagels and the necessary condiments and breakfast bread and muffins, and a large bowl of mixed fruit salad. Everyone seemed to really have a good time and the mix of people from the condo building was just great. The daughter of one of our residents was showing jewelry that people could order. The women seemed to really love it and she made quite a few sales. After the party ended and we cleaned up the condo, my wife and I joined our daughter, son-in-law and our two grandchildren on our boat at Lake Allatoona for a few hours and a cookout of hamburgers and hot dogs on the lake. We beat the storms getting back in and it turned out to be a perfect day, ending with watching the fireworks at Lenox from our condo balcony. A great Independence Day.

Sounds like a great brunch! I ran my first Peachtree Road Race on this year's Fourth of July, so now I have a t-shirt!

We live along the route, so we took the kids out and had a breakfast picnic while we cheered on the runners. My 3 year old daughter loves watching the runners and looks forward to it every year.
