The fire broke out in the front right corrner of the business, starting in either a storage area or the bar areas besides a stairwall, said Capt. Al Adkins, who had been among those battling the fire. He said he would be going back into the business to determine the exact location of where the fire began.
Todd Weaver of Brookhaven, a friend of the bar owners, said he was in the area and saw "flames shooting up in the edge of the bar." He tried to put it out himself but "the fire was more than I could deal with, so I called the Fire Department immediately."
No one was hurt in the fire, with occurred a little before 7 a.m. Battalion 6 Chief Raymond Bearden said a total of 10 units responded from Station 21. He said fire investigators were en route to determine the cause of the fire.
Owner Rob Dreesch said he was "pretty sure" the bar wouldn't open Friday. He hadn't been able to go inside to determine damages. He said the bar, which features live music, opened in 2009.
