Five Charged in Buckhead Shooting

Arrests made in robbery outside tavern at 1801 Howell Mill Road

Five suspects have been arrested in connnection with the robbery and shooting early Monday outside a Buckhead restaurant at 1801 Howell Mill Road, police said.

The five were charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault, police spokesperson Kim Jones said.

The fifth suspect, Travion Cox, turned himself in at the Zone 2 Precinct in Buckhead Tuesday afternoon, Jones said.

Arrested Monday night were Arthur and Antonia Hooten of Ellenwood, Marion David Wheeler of College Park and Franklin Plummer of Atlanta.

The suspects were arrested at their residences, Jones said. A car with five occupants was seen speeding from the scene and detained after the incident, police said. See this earlier Buckhead Patch .

Jones said the arrests were handled by APD officers assigned to the U.S. Marshals Task Force and the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, along with members of the Marshals' Task Force.
