The Galloway School and the High Museum of Art are engaged in a three-year affiliate program.
The partnership will give Galloway students and faculty access to the High's exhibitions, collections and programs, the school said in a news release.
The Galloway School and the High "share a deep commitment to the study of works of art and the integration of the arts into education," the announcement said.
“Connecting with this stellar institution will allow our students an enriched learning environment that extends our experiential learning in a new way,” said Galloway Head of School Dr. Beth Farokhi in the announcment.
The affiliation will include admission for students and chaperones on school-sponsored field trips, as well as discounted individual, family, and dual level memberships. Additional benefits will include lectures and internships.
Throughout the program, faculty members will receive annual updates on the High's long-term plans for special exhibitions and programs. Teachers will participate in professional development programs, designed to foster discussion to further integrate resources from relevant exhibitions into the school's curricula, the announcment said.
“We see these (affiliate programs) as relationships that will be developed between the two of us,” said Patricia Rodewald, Eleanor McDonald Storza director of education for the High. “There will be opportunities to customize special programs.”
