Galloway Celebrates Founder's Day With 5K
About 200 participate in annual event to benefit Elliott Galloway Scholarship Fund

Galloway on Nov. 30 marked Founder's Day, the birthday of school founder Elliott Galloway.
As part of the celebration, Galloway held its annual Elliott's Run 5K and one mile fun run, in which around 200 runners and walkers partricipated. The race was held at the school's athletics complex on DeFoors Ferry Road, the school said.
The race has been conducted since 1971, raising funds for the Elliott Galloway Scholarship Fund, the school said.
Galloway runners Calvin Henry and Caroline Henry, both of whom won individual state medals in cross country this year, finished first overall in the 5K race. Aaron Earl and Melinda Hartz led the middle learning field, while Pearce Seabrook and Anna Belson won the early learning competion. The top adult runners were Paul Kidder and Mindi Sewell.
