Mayor Kasim Reed Speaks to Pace Graduates

Reed delivered the commencement address to over 86 Pace Academy graduates.

The 86 members of the Pace Academy Class of 2012 graduated last Saturday at Peachtree Presbyterian Church.

City of Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed delivered the commencement address. He told students to savor this special time in their lives and advised them to cling to the tight-knit relationships they have established at Pace.

He encouraged graduates to “be in tune with what’s going on around the world” and “think beyond Atlanta and the state of Georgia.”

Mayor Reed also stressed to the members of the Class of 2012 the importance of finding career or life paths that they love.

“I want you to wake up every single day doing what you love,” he said. “You are something that is so much bigger than you … make your plans, put your shoulders to the wheel, fall in love with the grind and dream big.”
