From Patch Staff Reports

A memorial service for Emily Dunn, a 2006 Lovett School graduate and a former Buckhead resident, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Presbyterian Church, according to her obituary in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Lovett website.

Dunn, 23, died Aug. 19 in San Francisco when she was struck by a municipal bus, according to a SF.streetsblog article about how she was remembered by residents of the city's Castro district, where the accident occurred.

An honors graduate from Washington University in St. Louis, she had moved to San Francisco in July to work for Superfly Presents, a concert festival promoter, a news obituary in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said. The position was a dream job for her, the paper said.

At Lovett, she was a National Merit and AP scholar and a member of the Homecoming Court. She was stage manager in the theater department, editor of The Signature, a student literary and art magazine, and a recognized photographer. She had traveled to more than 35 countries and six continents.
