Pace Race Draws Record Crowd

Proceeds will support the renovation of Boyd Gym.

More than 400 runners and spectators participated in 30th Annual Pace Race held last Saturday, May 5,. The event included a one-mile fun run/walk, a 5K race, games and entertainment. 


Proceeds from the event will support the renovation of the school’s Boyd Gym, originally built in 1966 and used for athletic games and physical education.

Camp Magnolia and Honda Carland were the Pace Race Presenting Sponsors, and Pace parent Susan Graham served as event chair.

Overall winners of the one-mile race were, for the boys: fourth-grader Ben Crawford (first); fourth-grader Daniel Lucke (second); and Lovett student Charlie Raulet (third). For the girls: fifth-grader Kayla Ross (first); fifth-grader Madeline Janki (second); and third grader Madeline Simpson (third).

Pace Race 5K winners were, for the men: Pace sophomore Josh Rogers (first); Ryan Bell (second); and Pace parent Brian Ritchie (third); For the women: Pace Middle School teacher Holly Jimenez (first); Pace parent Amy Mininberg (second); and Lovett student Haley Hooper (third).
