Patch Is Collecting Questions for Obama and Romney During the Next Presidential Debate

If you have a question for the candidates, submit it in the comments section below and it could be asked during the televised Oct. 16 Town Hall Presidential Debate.

If last Wednesday’s presidential debate left you with more questions than answers, here’s your chance for the presidential candidates to address the issues that most matter to you.

The next presidential debate will be a town hall meeting format at Hofstra University in Long Island, where voters will ask President Obama and Mitt Romney about domestic and foreign policy.

Patch is asking you, our readers, to participate by submitting questions for the candidates.

All you have to do is post your question in the comments section below and we’ll send it to the Commission on Presidential Debates.

The Commission is partnering with Patch's parent company Aol, along with Google and Yahoo, to take questions from web users across the country.

Don’t wait until Nov. 6 to have a say in this year’s election. Share your thoughts in the comments!

Mr. President,
How does your past associations -- and your statment "we will fundamentally transform America -- with known communists [mentor Frank Marshall Davis], terrroist [Bill Ayers], anti-colonialist father, anti-American/Jewish Reverend Wright, known communists and socialists on your staff [Vann Jones], and muslims reflect your domestic and foreign policies.

Mr. President,
Do you really think that only 7.8% of Americans are unemployed? If, like most people out there think that's a false number, what do you believe is the actual percentage of Americans that are NOT working?

Why has no candidate suggested that the members of the Senate and House waive their retirement benefits from the Government? Show the American people that they are for us and not special cases. How many of them are receiving these now? How many other office holders including past Presidents? Their positions surely provided sufficient benefits in networking!

Mr. Romney, if you haven't evaded taxes, put your money overseas, and generally shady schemes that most Americans can't or won't do, please show us 12 years of tax returns like your father did and you forced your VP candidate to reveal to you. Mr. Romney, why have you consistently said no specifics on ANY of your policies until AFTER the election? Are you serious? And finally, confirm that you oppose equal pay for women, you support overturning Roe v. Wade, how you believe for tax cuts for the super rich paid for by closing the home interest deduction on the middle class and how you believe in burning coal and not renewable energy.

Here is my question for the debate:
I am a 61 year old woman who is a cancer survivor. I am concerned about whether
Medicare benefits will be there for me if Obamacare is implemented. Because
Obamacare is slashing Medicare payments to providers, it is estimated that
15% of hospitals and 50% of doctors will refuse to take Medicare patients. In addition
these reductions in Medicare are being funneled into a huge increase in
Medicaid, which will lead to Medicaid patients being given preference over
seniors. What will that do to the health care that we in my generation have paid
into and been promised for our entire working life? Lynn Irvin
