Fire contained to roof; no damage to interior of building
Firefighters from Buckhead's Station 21 quickly extinguished a roof fire late Wednesday afternoon at the CVS Pharmacy at 3221 Peachtree Road. Battalion Chief Edward Hill said the fire was contained to the roof, and "didn't get into the building." The cause is under investigation, Hill said. Arson investigators were on the scene, but arson is not suspected. He said roofers had been working on top of the building. Seven units responded to the fire at about 6 p.m. and the fire was put out in about 15 minutes, he said. No injuries were reported. Channel 11 reported that smoke and fire were seen coming from the building's roof when the fire was first reported. Here is a link to the TV station's initial report.
