Census records are a tremendous source of genealogical information. The 1940 federal census was released online in April and thanks to a virtual army of volunteers nearly three-quarters of the U.S. has been indexed. Archivist Sue VerHoef offers strategies for locating, searching, and analyzing federal, state, and local census data.

More About Atlanta History Center
The Atlanta History Center is one of Atlanta's primary cultural institutions. Located on 33 acres in Buckhead, the center's main attraction is the Atlanta History Museum, one of the Southeast's largest museums. The center also has the Centennial Olympics Games Museum, the historic Tullie Smith Farm and Swan House, and the Kenan Research Center.
