Westminster Players Ready “The Pajama Game” for October Run
The Westminster Players, the high school acting troupe of The Westminster Schools, will stage “The Pajama Game” October 4th, 5th and 6th at Kellett Theatre in the Broyles Arts Center on the Westminster Campus. Winner of the 2006 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, the show features familiar favorites like “Hernando’s Hideaway” and “Steam Heat” and shows how love can bloom even in the midst of a labor strike.
Tickets are free and will be available beginning September 25th by calling 404-367-5080.
The show is under the direction of Kate Guyton Morgens, Westminster’s new head of Theatre Arts. A 1991 graduate of Westminster, Ms. Morgens returned to Atlanta after teaching for eight years at the Collaborative Arts Project 21, the undergraduate musical theater performance studio for NYU/ Tisch School of the Arts. Her acting resume is extensive: she has performed on the FX series Rescue Me, in Fringe on FOX and in the ABC series Cashmere Mafia. She appeared in the Broadway production of Cyrano de Bergerac with Kevin Kline and Jennifer Garner, Entertaining Mr. Sloane, starring opposite Alec Baldwin, and Three Penny Opera, a pre-Broadway workshop with Alan Cumming and Edie Falco.
Little known facts: Ms. Morgens taught Lady Gaga at NYU, and was the inspiration for the character KateMonster in the musical Avenue Q.
