Coyote Spotted in North Buckhead

North Buckhead residents have spotted an unwelcomed guest in the neighborhood lately– a coyote.

The coyote was spotted on Skyland Drive between Loridans Drive and Valley Green, according to an email from the North Buckhead Civic Association.

A woman said she spotted the coyote in her fenced backyard, and that the "varmint" showed no fear when she shined a light in his eyes.

Just last summer a pack of coyotes attacked and killed a cat in the Loring Heights neighborhood of Buckhead.

There are reportedly about 3,000 coyote sightings in Atlanta every year, and coyotes can legally be hunted all year round.
