Spanx CEO, Buckhead Resident Laurie Ann Goldman to Serve as Keynote Speaker at MAX Awards

Organizers of the 21st annual Marketing Awards for Excellence (MAX Awards) announced six Georgia companies as finalists for this year’s awards. The MAX Awards Breakfast will be held Friday, Feb. 22 at 7:30 a.m. at the Georgia Aquarium.

At the breakfast, Spanx CEO and Atlanta resident Laurie Ann Goldman will serve as keynote speaker.

Goldman joined Spanx in 2002 and has grown the company from a groundbreaking startup to a global industry-leading enterprise.

Presented by Georgia State University J. Mack Robinson College of Business Department of Marketing and Atlanta Business Chronicle, the MAX Awards program is considered the most prestigious marketing awards event in Georgia. The MAX Awards honor the very best in new products, new services and marketing innovations developed or launched by Georgia companies in 2012. The finalists of the MAX Awards (below) were selected by the Georgia State University Marketing RoundTable, which is comprised of senior marketing executives from top Atlanta companies.

Before joining Spanx, Goldman led the Coca-Cola Company’s worldwide licensing division, expanding the licensing business to 54 countries and nearly a billion dollars in retail sales. Earlier in her career, she managed event marketing at Macy’s Department Store, where she created and managed special event, marketing and promotions.

Goldman lends her leadership and energy to a variety of community, philanthropic and professional development organizations. She serves on the boards of SunTrust Bank, AAFA, Metro Atlanta Chamber, the Jewish Federation of Atlanta, Pace Academy, SCAD, and is an active member of The Committee of 200 (C200).  She was named one of Jewish Women International’s Top Ten Women to Watch, was an AJC Comay Fellow, represented the AJC before Israel‘s Minister of Defense and received the privilege of running the Olympic torch through the streets of Atlanta.
