Invest Atlanta Welcomes PulteGroup to Buckhead

Today Invest Atlanta hosted a welcome event for PulteGroup CEO Richard Dugas at Capital City Plaza in Buckhead. The event was held before Governor Nathan Deal and Mayor Kasim Reed officially welcomed the company to Atlanta.

"I could not be more pleased to welcome Richard Dugas and more than 300 PulteGroup employees to their new corporate headquarters in the City of Atlanta," said Mayor Reed. "This relocation is a prime example of our city’s continued strength as a great place for business and will create more well-paying jobs. We have the right mix of talent, great neighborhoods and a business-friendly environment that makes our city a top choice for companies ranging from international corporations to entrepreneurial start-ups. In Atlanta, PulteGroup will be right at home.”

Invest Atlanta, along with the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the Metro Atlanta Chamber, played a leading role in choosing the new location of PulteGroup’s headquarters. The company will occupy 100,000 square feet of Class A office space in Capital City Plaza.

“A corporate headquarters relocation of this magnitude is rare and fantastic news for the City of Atlanta, especially the arrival of a company that is a regular on the Fortune 500 list,” said Brian P. McGowan, President and CEO of Invest Atlanta. “As Pulte ramps up operations in our city, they will create new jobs for our residents, grow our tax base and support existing small businesses. This was a tough competition, but Pulte chose the city of Atlanta over other major U.S. cities because this city consistently demonstrates its commitment to sustaining business investments and is able to attract top talent from all over the world.”

The leading homebuilder announced its plan to relocate its corporate headquarters from Michigan to Atlanta in May. PulteGroup’s move will create 310 high-paying new jobs. The relocation will be complete in 2014.
