Pace Academy Middle School Presents "Bye Bye Birdie" Feb. 20-22

Pace Academy’s Middle School drama department will present Bye Bye Birdie in the school’s Fine Arts Center Feb. 20-22.

Bye Bye Birdie made its Broadway debut in 1960 and went on to win the Tony Award for Best Musical and inspire a 1963 film. Middle School Drama Director Patrick Campbell directs the hilarious musical account of teen heartthrob Conrad Birdie’s transition from glamorous rock star to Army draftee.

Bye Bye Birdie is a fun, 1950s rock-and-roll musical that reminds us that whether the signer is Elvis, Birdie or Bieber, and whether telephones are corded or cellular, there are some universal truths about kids, parents and love,” says Campbell. “It has been amazing to see our students work through snow, sleet and ice storms to get this show ready on time.”
