Sarah Smith Elementary Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Tahino Music Group assembly

Sarah Smith Elementary recently celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a musical assembly. The Tahino Music Group, led by Otto Rondon, brought down the house with a vibrant and exciting musical educational program. The group educated the students and teachers on the sights and sounds of Latin America by introducing them to the customs and music associated with Spanish speaking countries throughout the world. The interactive assembly included student participation playing various percussion instruments. The teachers were invited to the stage to learn Latin dance moves and performed for the children- this was a highlight of the day. The grand finale culminated as the students and teachers rose to their feet dancing and moving to the lively Latin American musical rhythms.
Throughout the day, parents participated in the classroom with a celebration of food, culture, traditional clothing and education and history of Spanish speaking countries and traditions.  http://tahinomusicprogram.com/about.html
