Atlanta History Center's Annual Day of the Dead Set for Oct. 27

The Atlanta History Center's annual Day of the Dead family festival is set for Oct. 27, which is also a free admission day at the historical center in Buckhead.

The festival is a full day of cultural exploration that introduces visitors of all ages to this ancient festival rooted in Mexican heritage that serves as a way for families to remember their deceased loved ones while celebrating their children and the continuity of life.

This annual family program is held in collaboration with the Instituto de Mexico and the Mexican Consulate with support by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners under the guidance of the Fulton County Arts Council. The festival has been presented to the public at the Atlanta History Center’s Buckhead campus for more than eleven years.

For the first time, the festival will feature an art exhibit as well. StoryCorps will also be a part of this year's festivities.
