Buckhead Coalition Selects Dave Fitzgerald as New Chairman

The Buckhead Coalition held its 25th annual luncheon on Wednesday and selected the advertising firm president to serve a two-year chairman position.

David P. Fitzgerald, president and chief executive officer of the Fitzgerald & Company advertising firm, has been elected to a two-year term as chairman of the Buckhead Coalition. Named at today’s 25th anniversary annual meeting celebration, he becomes the 12th person to head the group of area business leaders.                 

Sam Massell, the founding president of the Coalition, was elected to another two-year period, as well as were Juanita P. Baranco and Jeffrey C. Sprecher as vice presidents, M. Maxine Hicks as secretary, and Charles B. Crawford Jr. as treasurer. Selected for three-year positions as members of the executive committee were M. Brantley Barrow, Steven L. Guy, Daniel S. Parmer, Michael M. Rogers, and S. Scott Selig.                  

Massell points out that  “Dave, a Buckhead resident, has been a director and active member of the Coalition for 21 years, providing pro bono assistance time and time again.”

Fitzgerald, accepting the assignment, said “for one to be impressed with the Coalition’s history you need only glance through its newly-published  twenty-five-year retrospective booklet, a compilation of one-hundred-and-eighty sample initiatives from over the years.”                 

John (Sonny) Morris, the outgoing chairman, was presented with a Fräbel buck’s head crystal trophy in appreciation of his service.
