Shelter dogs that have been trained for eight weeks by Fulton County Jail inmates will be ready for adoption on Sunday, Dec. 15 at the Shops of Buckhead.
Red Bandanna will host the adoption event by Canine Cellmates from noon-3 p.m.
Canine CellMates operates out of Fulton County Jail in Atlanta. Founded on June 3, 2013, its goal is to establish a continuing partnership between Fulton County Animal Services, the Fulton County Sheriffs Office and Fulton County Jail.
The eight-week program pairs a Fulton County Jail inmate with a Fulton County Animal Shelter dog so that through their relationship they can help rehabilitate each other. The goal of the program is to save more dogs by training them to be better pets and help inmates become better citizens.
On Dec. 15 the first two cycle of dogs that have undergone training with the inmates and Canine Cellmates volunteers will be available for adoption. Families will be able to meet and adopt the dogs at the event.
Red Bandanna is at 2221 Peachtree Road Suite F, Atlanta, GA 30309.
