Get Out: Weekend Planner

Why go: Benefitting the Georgia Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, it features two bands: Mama’s Love and Lost City. This event will also have food, Sweetwater beer and raffle prizes. Besides, isn’t it time to end diabetes?

ATTEND A BACHELOR AUCTION FOR CHARITY

Why go: B.A.R., or Bachelor Auction Remixed, offers some of  Atlanta's most eligible gay bachelors up for the bidding to raise money for H.E.R.O. for Children and Team S.O.U.L. B.A.R takes 10 bachelors and auctions them off, with the winning bidders getting a lunch or dinner with their bachelor. There will also be complimentary drinks provided by Ulitmat Vodka with light hors d'oeuvres.

Where/When: Peachtree Road Farmer’s Market, , 2744 Peachtree Road, Saturday, 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Why go: Support Slow Food Atlanta at the annual ice cream social fundraiser by sampling fresh, homemade ice cream. Samplers will get to vote on favorites and will get to taste flavors like thyme leaves in lemon cream and black peppercorn strawberry.

Pricing: $15 for adults/$5 for children.

ENJOY A CHILDREN’S HOUR

Why go: Just in time for Father’s Day, enjoy storytime with the book “Me and My Dad.”

ENJOY “PLAYING IN TRAFFIC”

Where/When: Nick Conti’s Professional Actors Studio, 2849 Piedmont Road, Saturday, 7 p.m.

Why go: Brian Chapman leads a professional troupe of improve actors in a live show that involves music and audience participation. Shows run every Saturday night.
