Patch Staff Report

As has been its practice for more than 15 years, the Buckhead Coalition has again generated contributions to area civic groups and governmental facilities. The procedure is that of directing part of the ad proceeds from its annual Buckhead Guidebook to three or four other community groups.

This year, $9,000 was distributed amongst the Atlanta Fire Foundation, the Atlanta Police Foundation, the Buckhead Branch of Atlanta-Fulton Public Library, and the Buckhead Heritage Society.

The Coalition’s president, Sam Massell, pointed out that it doesn’t take any of the funds from advertisements, and is proud the Coalition can provide the needed monetary support to others, and in addition, grant to all, the right to reproduce any of the Guidebook’s content without further permission.

The Buckhead Coalition is an influential nonprofit civic association, much like a chamber of commerce, for this affluent northern quadrant of the city of Atlanta. Its membership is limited to 100 CEOs of major area firms, by invitation.
