HOV Lindbergh Exit Ramps Closed for Next 6 Months
The ramps are closed as part of a large project to help ease traffic in south Buckhead.
The HOV Lindbergh Drive entrance and exit ramps on Interstate 85 closed late Monday night as part of a massive Georgia Department of Transportation project, and they won’t be reopened until July.
The project, with an estimated cost of $21.5 million, is expected to ease traffic congestion in south Buckhead by creating new ramps, which allow drivers to travel south on I-85 and then north on GA-400 and vice versa. The project is funded by SRTA Toll revenue bonds.
As part of the project, a pedestrian trail will be constructed from Cheshire Bridge Road to Lenox Road, including a bridge across the North Fork Peachtree Creek.

As the project progresses, lane closures on I-85 and State Route 400, as well as on the arterial roadways in the area including Buford Highway, Cheshire Bridge Road, and Sidney Marcus Boulevard should be expected, particularly in the overnight hours.
Motorists can use Cheshire Bridge Road as an alternate route to access the Lindbergh MARTA station.
