Pace Academy Student Featured in Macy's Parade

This little fifth-grader is already doing huge things and rubbing elbows with one of the biggest celebrities around– Santa!

One Pace Academy fifth-grader had the opportunity to ride on a float in the famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Thursday after scoring a major role in a musical.

Mary Stewart Sullivan rode the float with Santa after playing the role of Virginia in the world premier of "Yes, Virginia," a musical developed by Macy's as part of the retailer's "Believe" campaign.

Mary performed in the musical this summer at the famed 40-year-old Stagedoor Manor Camp in the Catskills, NY, known as a training ground for the country's top young talent.

Every year, more than 400 Stagedoor Manor participants apply to participate in the classic parade, but only 136 were chosen this year. Mary was one of only 28 Stagedoor Manor students, all castmembers of "Yes, Virginia" to accompany Santa and Ms. Claus on their float.
