Patch Pic: Westminster Students Hold Bake Sale for Sandy Victims

The students raised $800 for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Westminster students held a bake sale Friday to aid those suffering in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. The students raised $800, which will go to the American Red Cross.

Members of the Junior High and High School Service Councils, along with several parents, baked an assortment of cookies, brownies and other treats.

The students had planned to sell the sweets along with Chick–fil–A biscuits, outside the cafeteria throughout the day.

But soon after noon, the inventory was completely depleted as Westminster students stepped up to help. Westminster Community Service Coordinator Stan Moor and Junior High School Chaplain Tina McCormick supported the students in the effort.
