Sparkle With Diamond Rio
Where/when: 10 p.m. Friday,
Why go: The first Terry Rocks concert featuring Grammy winning artist Diamond Rio will benefit the UGA Music Business Program. The concert, which features the John King Band at 9 p.m., is sponsored by the Terry College Young Alumni Board. Doors open at 8 p.m.
Cost: $25 advance
Enjoy '50s Fun at Bitsy Grant
When/Where: 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday,
Why go: Wear your tennis whites, sip "Bitsy sours" and dance '50s style to a D.J. at the Bitsy Open, which benefits the Friends of Bitsy Grant, which just opened the renovated tennis center. The Georgia State Adult/Senior Open starting this weekend at the tennis center also includes a Family Fun Fest from 10 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Cost:$100 a ticket for Bitsy Open.
Open house at
Where/When:10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Peachtree Hills Recreational Center, 308 Peachtree Hills Ave.
Why go: Find out about the fall educational and recreational programs at the rec center, including A+ Certification and Robotics. The center will also have enhanced after school programs.
Cost: Free for open house, fees for courses.
Cool out with Steely Dan

Why go: The summer of aby boomer heaven continues at Chastain Park with Steely Dan.
