Candlelight Nights Shine Even in Rain

Families come to Atlanta History Center for annual holiday tradition

The rain didn't keep Candlelight Nights from shining at the Atlanta History Center in Buckhead on Thursday. Groups of families dressed in their Christmas best came out to experience the 33 acres of history and holiday bliss.

Festivities included beautiful operatic acapella Christmas songs by Tara Nixon and expressive holiday storytelling by Cathy Kaemmerlen at the Swan House.

History lessons given by lantern light were led at the Tullie Smith Farm, and local chorus and choirs were sprinkled throughout the facility.

Georgia State psychology major Claire Galloway, who hadn't been to the History Center since she was 6-years-old,  said,"I was surprised at how much there was to do." One of Galloway's favorite parts of the evening was, "hearing the beautiful live music while touring the Swan House with all its gorgeous Christmas decorations."
