"Iron Chef," Farmer's Market Style

A Friday evening Peachtree Road Farmer's Market is being held and will play host to a special competition.

For one night only Atlanta's largest producer-only market is serving up competition fresh from the farm. On Friday, June 1 will open to serve the Atlanta community from 4-8 p.m.

There will be live bluegrass music by "The Farmland Trio" and plenty of food trucks to provide dinner.

In addition to the usual fruits, veggies and handmade treats available for sale, the market will play host to a competition between six hungry chefs. Think "Iron Chef," farmer's market style.

As the clock ticks the chefs will have $45 dollars to shop for ingredients. They will prepare fresh-from-the-farm plates to serve 100 lucky patrons. As the bell sounds, marking the end of their two hour culinary journey (6 p.m.), ticket holders will sample the plates and choose a winner. Tickets are a mere $5 and will be for sale beginning at 4 p.m.

However, with the regular mix of over 70 vendors to choose from, everyone will be able to leave with something special.
