Get Out: Party at a Food Rave; See Angels (in a Play); Catch Earth, Wind & Fire; See Photos; Help Haiti

Here are a few weekend activities in Buckhead

Where/When: Atlanta Photography Group Gallery, 75 Bennett St., B-1, Atlanta, Friday,  7:30 to 10 p.m.

Why go: See photography exhibited by someone who knows how — Anna Walker Skillman, owner of Jackson Fine Arts. This exhibition, “Skillman Selects” will run until Nov. 18, and is promoted in conjunction with Atlanta Celebrates Photography.

Where/When: , 2799 Northside Drive, Thursday through Saturday, 7:30 p.m.

Why go: “Angels”, a musical by Phillip Depoy, revolves around the story of an angel visiting a critically ill young woman, who is mistaken for a bag lady by the patient’s father, and the situations that follow after this misunderstanding.

PARTY AT A FOOD RAVE

Where/When: Andrews Upstairs and the surrounding area, 56 E. Andrews Drive, Atlanta, Friday,  7 to 10 p.m.

Why go: When the executive chefs from some of Atlanta’s hottest restaurants get together it becomes a gastronomic party for all. Buckhead Bottle Bar, Nava, Straits, Top Flr, and P’cheen will be represented at the Atlanta Food Rave, handing out samples all around the East Andrews Entertainment Complex Friday night. “Tasters” are encouraged to vote for the best chef,  and the alcohol tastings will be complementary. Vegetarian options will also be available.

Pricing: $55 per person

GET YOUR GROOVE ON WITH EARTH, WIND & FIRE

Where/When: , 4469 Stella Drive, Atlanta, Friday, doors open at 7 p.m. and the concert starts at 8 p.m.

Why go: In 2009, Earth, Wind & Fire’s “The Promise,” was released, making it nearly 40 years in the music business. They’re in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and are a favorite of President Barack Obama, so take this chance to see this legendary band rock Chastain Friday night.

Pricing: Ticket prices range from $25 to $113

FIND OUT WHAT THE “EVOLUTION OF CURVES” ARE

Where/When: DeFoor Centre, 1710 DeFoor Ave., Atlanta, Thursday, 6 p.m.

Why go: Last year this fashion show tour raised funds to purchase land in Haiti, and this year, organizers hope to raise enough to build homes for those who lost them there. All proceeds from “Evolution of Curves” Charity Fashion Show Tour by Apple Bottoms will benefit the Haiti Cheri Heritage Foundation.
