UPDATE: Funeral for Usher's Stepson Held at Wieuca Road Baptist Church in Buckhead

Kile Glover, who was killed as the result of a watercraft accident at Lake Lanier, is the son of Tameka Foster — who was married to Usher.

UPDATE: A profound sadness was in the air, made audible by the cries of his mother, Tameka Foster and other family members as Kile Glover was transported from Wieuca Road Baptist Church into the horse drawn hearse that would carry him to the grave site.

A trumpet player performed "Jesus Loves Me" as the casket was carried down the long staircase in front of the church. Hundreds gathered around to show their support to the family.

"Very few people lived life with the intensity that characterized everything Kile did, everything he was," read the colorful program that was handed out to those in attendance and obtained by Buckhead Patch. "He greeted the possibilities of the unknown without fear, but wit excitement and a relentless enthusiasm to achieve greatness."

The text of the program ended with this statement to all that knew him: "Be kind, be clever, be creative, be silly, be spontaneous and be bold. Protect Kile's legacy by forgiving and sharing your heart, your ideas and your joy with all those you meet."

Family and friends gathered for the funeral of 11 year-old Kile Glover on Friday at Wieuca Road Baptist Church in Buckhead. Glover is the son of Tameka Foster, who was married to Grammy-winning pop star Usher.

A volunteer with , 3626 Peachtree Road NE, told Buckhead Patch that while they are not directly involved with funeral preparations, it has been their goal to take care of and protect the family — who began arriving at the church around 9:15 a.m.

The funeral was set to begin at 11 a.m. and Atlanta police were on the scene directing traffic. At around 10:30 a.m., funeral attendees lined the front of the church as a precession of limousines and and SUVs arrived at the church.

Kile passed away Saturday from a major brain injury sustained in a watercraft accident at Lake Lanier in Buford on July 6.

Kim, I just lost one of my best friends in the world recently and I can honestly say that knowing he is in a better place is what makes all the difference and continues to help me deal with it.
