$1.8 million for House Sale to Go to Charity, AJC Says

Westminster among nonprofits benefiting from 'gift house' proceeds

An Atlanta businessman who sold a six-bedroom home near Buckhead for $1.8 million plans to give the entire proceeds to various charities, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Martin and Tanya Hunter closed Friday on the six-bedroom, six-bath, three-car-garage home with a wine cellar and large, landscaped backyard on Powers Ferry Road, the newspaper reported.

The couple had almost given up looking when they came across "The Gift House," the name given to the 3-year-old stackstone manse by C. Tycho Howle, founder of several high tech companies.

Howle plans to give all of the money to different charities, including the Westminster Schools in Buckhead, the newspaper said.
