Attorney Ben Vinson, Chairman of Brookhaven Commission, to Speak at BBA Breakfast

Vinson will share the process of setting up a government structure, as it relates to the new City of Brookhaven.

Benjamin J. Vinson of McKenna Long & Aldridge, Government Affairs practice group will be the featured speaker at the Buckhead Business Association Weekly Breakfast on Thursday. Vinson, who was appointed by Gov. Nathan Deal to chair the five-member Brookhaven Commission, will discuss the process of setting up a government structure, as it relates to the new City of Brookhaven.

“Ben Vinson played an integral role in getting the City of Brookhaven up-and-running,” notes Brian Daughdrill, 2013 President of the BBA.  “It is a very unique experience to get to oversee the formation of a city from the ground up, and we are very excited for Mr. Vinson to share his perspective on this newly formed city, and Buckhead neighbor, Brookhaven.”

Vinson is a member of the Government Affairs practice group with McKenna Long & Aldridge. He focuses primarily on state and local issues, with a concentration in campaign and election law, economic development, and legislative action. Prior to joining MLA, Vinson served as Counsel to the Majority Caucus in the Georgia House of Representatives. In that capacity, he assisted the Speaker and other members of House Leadership by researching proposed law, drafting legislation and providing advice on various political issues.
