Black Friday Starts With a Bang

Hundreds of shoppers wait for deals at the Toys "R" Us in Buckhead Station on Thursday.

Close to 300 shoppers waited outside of the in Buckhead Station for the doors to open on Thursday night. Derek Strother and his wife Becky arrived at the store around 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day in order to ensure their place as first in line.

As the doors opened at 9 p.m., crowds of shoppers hustled into the store and down the different aisles looking for discounted holiday gifts.

The same scene occurred all over the Buckhead area as Black Friday made its annual appearance. in Lenox Square and other stores opened at midnight, and in Phipps opened at 3 a.m. and also got a jump on the on the shopping season by opening Thursday night.
