Buckhead Developments See Continued Construction Progress

Check out videos of construction of the Atlanta History Center's Veterans Park expansion, Chef Ford Fry's King + Duke restaurant and the pre-construction site of what will be one of Buckhead's newest apartment complexes.

Several highly anticipated and closely watched Buckhead developments are currently under construction.

The Atlanta History Center is currently expanding its quarter-acre Veterans Park, which opened in 2000 at the intersection of West Paces Ferry Road and Slaton Drive, to three-quarters of an acre. It will serve as the Center's main pedestrian entry.

The park will be an interactive place for visitors to learn more about veterans by using their smartphones in the park to access photos and interviews from the History Center’s oral history project and archives.

UPDATED at 1:30 p.m. A spokeswoman for King + Duke told Buckhead Patch in an email that the restaurant will likely open in early May. Also, the restaurant's cuisine has changed. “The new restaurant focuses on open-hearth cooking," the spokeswoman wrote to Patch.

Renowned chef and James Beard Foundation-nominated restaurateur Ford Fry planned to open his King + Duke restaurant in Buckhead in March.

However, the restaurant is now due to open in late May or early June, according to Eater. The inspection process slowed progress, the foodie site reports.

The new colonial American focused restaurant will open at 3060 Peachtree Road in One Buckhead Plaza, which formerly housed Nava.

The restaurant is hiring servers.
