Carter’s, Inc., the country’s largest branded marketer of apparel exclusively for babies and young children, is closing up its Midtown-based operations and moving its headquarters to Buckhead.
In October, the company announced plans to consolidate its retail store and financial operations currently managed in its Shelton, Conn., facility with the company’s Midtown center at 1170 Peachtree Street in The Proscenium building.
Carter's will terminate its lease there on Dec. 31 and move into 222,730 square feet of space in the 20-story Phipps Tower in 2013, according to a report from the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
The children's clothing company is most known for its OshKosh B’gosh branded apparel.
The nearly 200 jobs expected to be created by the company's shift will be in the areas of retail merchandising and store operations, finance, and information technology.
According to this article from Midtown Patch, Carter's currently employs about 1,200 people in the metro Atlanta area.
