Commercial Real Estate Attorneys to Address BBA

Abe J. Schear, Philip G. Skinner to discuss the surge in foreign investment in U.S. commercial properities

Commercial real estate attorneys Abe J. Schear and Philip G. Skinner will speak to the Buckhead Business Association Thursday morning, discussing "the surge in foreign investment in U.S. commercial real estate, and the implications that has for Atlanta and the Southeast," according to a news release.

Schear and Skinner, partners at the law firm of Arnall Golden Gregory, will speak at the BBA's weekly breakfast meeting from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the City Club of Buckhead. Tickets are $10 for BBA members and $20 for visitors and guests. For more information, see the BBA website at www.buckheadbusiness.org.

“Abe Schear and Philip Skinner come to us with a wealth of knowledge about commercial real estate and specifically about the drastic changes that the industry has seen over recent years, as the U.S. CRE market relies on foreign investor interest now more than ever,”  Catherine Cattles, BBA president, said in a statement.  “As we all look for positive economic indicators, we are eager to hear their analysis of how the globalization of CRE will impact the recovery of our local, regional, and national economies.”

Schear chairs Arnall Golden Gregory's commercial real estate/retail leasing team, as well as the firm’s Israel business team and cross-border practice team. Both the retail leasing team and the Israel business team were initiated by him.

Skinner is a commercial real estate partner at Arnall Golden Gregory and co-chairs the firm's leasing and cross-border practices.

In future weeks, BBA speakers include Buckhead Coalition President Sam Massell, who will deliver his annual State of Buckhead address Feb. 16; Dr. Beverly Scott, MARTA's CEO and general manager, Feb. 23; and Marilyn Midyette, CEO of Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, March 1.
