Lime Fresh Restaurant Opens in Buckhead

The Buckhead restaurant scene gains a new player Wednesday when Lime Fresh Mexican Grill opens on West Paces Ferry Road.

The Florida-based fast-casual Mexican concept will bring a Miami South Beach ambiance to the longtime Johnny Rockets location near the heart of Buckhead. Lime Fresh will open at 11 a.m. Wednesday at 5 W. Paces Ferry Road. Its hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Sunday.

With charbroiling on grills in an exhibition-style kitchen, the restaurant features a homemade sala bar, 50 variations of hot sauces and a variety of healthy options ranging from whole wheat to low-carb items, according to an announcement.

Menu highlights include cantina steak salad with grilled steak on a bed of fresh greens with bacon, black bean corn salsa, onions, peppers, carrots, shredded jack and cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, tortilla strips and a side of creamy cilantro dressing; South Beach burrito with chicken, jack and cheddar cheese, pico de gallo and shredded lettuce served on a low-carb tortilla; and surfer tacos with grilled mahi mahi, shredded cabbage, pico de gallo and a cool cilantro sauce. 

Another Lime Fresh will be opening in May at Brookwood Square in Peachtree Hills. The restaurant also will be opening in Midtown this spring. Nationally, the company, founded by CEO John Kunkel in 2004, maintains 10 locations in Florida and separate spots in Huntsville, Ala., and Arlington, Va. The company is expanding to Birmingham, Ala.; Washington, D.C.; College Park, Md.; and Morrisville, N.C.
