New Sushi Restaurant Opens in Buckhead in April
Additionally, Red Pepper Taqueria is ready for business.
Looking for a new place to get your sushi rolls and tempura in Buckhead, come April, you can look no further.
Welcome Umi, a Japanese restaurant, which will be located at 3050 Peachtree Road, next to the St. Regis Hotel. It's scheduled to open in early to mid-April, according to Atlanta Magazine.
Farshid Arshid and Charlie Hendon, who both frequently dined at the now-shuttered MF sushi restaurants, plan to bring back what was missing from the Buckhead sushi scene once the MF Buckhead location closed its doors.

Umi will serve a variety of Japanese dishes, including: rock shrimp tempura with either a ponzu or creamy-spicy sauce, black miso cod, beef tenderloin kushi-yaji (beef skewers with teriyaki sauce) and aburi nigiri (slightly cooked sushi-grade fish with sea salt).
Red Pepper Taqueria plans to open its second location at 3133 Piedmont Road in Buckhead in May, replacing Barcas Tapas & Lounge.

The restaurant offers a 3,000 square-foot dining area, over 100 tequila varieties and Red Pepper's signature dishes.
“We’re thrilled to be opening our second location of Red Pepper Taqueria in the heart of Buckhead”, says Executive Chef Mimmo Alboumeh. “Our goal is to continue providing Mexican fare to Atlantans by using local, fresh organic ingredients.”
The original restaurant opened on Briarcliff Road in January 2012.
