NPU-C Delays Frank Ski's Bid for Buckhead Restaurant

Radio personality's representatives asked to talk to neighborhood group

V-103 radio host Frank Ski will have to wait a bit longer to see his name upon a Peachtree Road restaurant.

NPU-C Chairman Paul Melvin said he requested that Ski's representatives delay their request for NPU approval until next month. Melvin asked the restaurant group to discuss its plans with the nearby Collier Hills North neighborhood. The plans for Frank Ski's Restaurant and Bar already have been discussed with the Peachtree Battle Alliance neighborhood, Melvin said.

Ski, who brokered a restaurant deal with the Shumacher Group, according to its website, wants to open the business at 2110 Peachtree Road near the Bennett Street art gallery district. The space was the site of Mick's for 20 years and most recently the Thirsty Dog Saloon.

Also put off until next month was an application for a change of ownership for Stooges Restaurant,  2020 Howell Mill Road.

Chase Bank withdrew its application for a zoning variance at 2002 Howell Mill Road, where a building that housed a Blockbuster's will be torn down for a new bank branch. The bank sought a zoning change for a three-lane drive-through window, but now apparently will use a two-lane configuration.

The NPU approved Gary Blase's taking ownership of the Capital City Package store at 784 Collier Road.

It also unanimously approved the raising of a house at 717 Woodward Way, which had suffered flooding. The NPU took the action although a neighbor opposed the building of a deck that will be 3 feet from her driveway, according to architect Rick Glassman's plans.
