After 37 years, Pella is closing its doors at its Shops Around Lenox location in Buckhead at the end of February.
Most of the items in the women's wear retailer are now 50 percent off as part of the store's going out of business sale.
According to the shop's owner, who wished to remain unnamed, Pella experienced declining sales and is not renewing its lease.
"The economy is not the same... It's hard for independents. Independents are struggling," said Pella's owner.
Another women's retailer, Dallas, TX-based The Impeccable Pig, is expected to replace Pella sometime in March, according to Tomorrow's News Today.
Other businesses coming to Shops Around Lenox in the next couple of months include:
- bevello, a women's clothing boutique based in Raleigh, NC,
- Athleta, which like lululemon already in the shopping center, sells athletic wear for women and is owned by Gap, Inc. and
- Bhojanic, a restaurant currently located in Decatur on Clairemont Road. This will be the second location for the restaurant, which serves tapas from northern India.
