Camden Property Trust, the new owner of the in Buckhead, has given residents until Jan. 15 to leave the complex.
Last week, and that "demolition of all buildings will be completed by the end of this year." But the Houston company, which recently purchased the 30-acre site for $39.3 million, has apparently put off the demolition plans until next year.
Residents also were told they would not receive any financial renumeration from the company, but now they will not have to pay rent for the final month before moving out. The free month will be prorated, so that a resident moving out on Dec. 29 will receive 29 days free, while one leaving on Dec. 5 will get five days free, according to an annoucement.
"To help offset your moving costs, your moving month at The Paces will be free when you provide us with advance written notice," a notice from the company said. "To ensure ample time is being provided, your move will need to be completed on or befor January 15th, 2012."
The company is also giving rent incentives to residents for 12 apartment communities the company owns in Atlanta, including the age-restricted .
Calls from Buckhead Patch to the Paces Apartments office and Camden Trust in Houston were not returned.
