Restoration Hardware 'Very Close' to Breaking Ground on Peachtree Rd.

The luxury home furnishings retailer will build a six-story megastore on the former ESPN Zone property.

Restoration Hardware will soon break ground on its new facility.

In an April 18 call with analysts, Restoration Hardware CEO Carlos Alberini said the company is "very close" to breaking ground on its megastore on the former ESPN Zone property on Peachtree and Pharr roads, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

News first surfaced in May 2012 that the luxury home furnishings retailer was discussing a lease of the three-story former ESPN Zone entertainment complex, but it wasn't until February 2013 that it was announced that the lease was signed.

Restoration Hardware closed its Lenox Square location in early 2011. After almost a decade in its prime Buckhead location, ESPN Zone shuttered in late 2009 after opting out of its about 34,000-square-foot space in central Buckhead at 3030 Peachtree Road.

The new store would be a six-story open-atrium megastore and would likely open in 2014.
