Simon to Host Security Summit in Buckhead

Lenox, Phipps owner to focus on range of public safety issues during two-day gathering

Simon Property Group, owner of Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza, will sponsor the first Atlanta Security Summit May 25-26 at the Westin Buckhead.

The seminar will bring together 200 representatives of state and local law enforcement agencies, Atlanta area mall-management teams, Simon corporate executives, retailer representatives and security providers who will discuss conducting business in the current retail environment, according to a Simon news release.

Allied Barton, contract security provider for Atlanta-area Simon Malls, and Crime Stoppers Atlanta will also participate.

The conference will focus on the partnerships between Simon malls in Georgia and law enforcement agencies and will cover security strategy, technology and information sharing tools, homeland security, crisis and emergency management, police and private security partnerships, Crime Stoppers and organized retail crime.

Eight law enforcement representatives will receive awards at the end of the first day of the conference.
