Sneak Peek: Mae’s Bakery Holds Grand Opening Friday

The bakery will offer only made-from-scratch items.

Owner Beth Castro and her staff have been busy preparing for the opening of Mae’s Bakery in Buckhead, which will have its official grand opening on Friday.

Castro says she aims to offer a “crafted” coffee and bakery experience for people who come to her location at 2770 Lenox Rd. in the Lenox Village shopping center.

That means “nothing comes pre-made.”

The bakery is named for Castro’s 6-year-old daughter, and the inspiration for the business goes back to her own childhood.

Castro said she has 14 years of food service experience and she has spent three years thinking about and planning for opening day.

“I’ve been baking my whole life, ever since I was a little girl,” she said. “I’ve always had the dream of having my own little spot.”
